Following graduation from the University of Toronto, Sophie began her career in individual Life and Disability sales with Metropolitan Life in 1991, eventually moving in to the Special Risk insurance field in 1993. 

Since that time, her experience has included various aspects of Special Risk operations including Administration, Underwriting, Sales, Marketing, Product Development and Strategic Management with both foreign and domestic insurers and managing general underwriters.  Her expertise lies in several specialty product lines including Special Risk Disability and Life, Group and Individual AD&D, Expatriate Medical, War Risk, Kidnap & Ransom and Contingency insurance products.

Sophie holds an Honours B.A.  in Commerce and Economics and the designations of CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter) and HIAA (Health Insurance Associate of America) with a combined 20+ years experience in the Life, Accident and Health field.
